RECESSION

We cannot go through a day without hearing the word recession. Well the ladies in these pictures are truly believers of this dark time. I know you cannot tell from the pictures, but it was -5 when their pictures were taken. I was wearing layers and layers and these girls were running around without jackets. I had some warm vanilla bean hot cholocalte in my system and my teeth were still chattering. I know going out is expensive, but the 2-5 dollars for the coat check has to be worth it, right?

All I can do is admire these brave souls, as they did not let the weather cover up their classy outfits.

THE POSE

The pose, we all have one. That one pose we use over and over again. No one knows why, but for some reason it just keeps showing up on our profile pictures. Please don't lie everyone has one, and yes that means you. If you don't believe me go look at your profile pictures on fbook and at least half of them have that one pose. Mine is squishing my face, and closing my eyes. I have a friend and every single profile pic her head slightly tilted to the left side.

No one quite knows why "The Pose" exists. It could either be a pose you do over and over again at every drunken party, or it could just be you like your face like that.

I asked these girls to pose like a model and this is the pose they gave me, which is classic drunk facebook pose. I actually love it. I'm not a very serious person and these two poses are probably, no exactly what I would have done. So go out into the world let lose and remember when those bulbs are  flashing let out your inner pose.

GLAMOROUS

I must be honest, these are my favorite pictures. I plan on having the second one framed. I just want to go out and have fun when I look at these girls. The sequins make me so jealous. I have no idea what it is, but when I see something shiny I want it. I walk around this world with a child-like sense of wonder and fashion is no exception. This is exactly why I love this time of year. Every piece of clothing is covered with glitter and sequins.

PRECIOUS

These pictures were taken on the way back to the subway after a long night of hunting fashionistas. Before taking this photograph I thought I was stuck, but this is what started to move my project into the right direction. I hate how some websites only post one image. I plan on posting two. Not going to lie, loving the diptychs. 

These girls were so sweet and simply amazing. They were the first subjects who asked me about my camera. Since then I have been getting stopped on the street because everyone just wants to know more about my lovely Diana. I love the circle scarf. I have noticed it is a necessity this winter. Everyone seems to have these huge knit ones. Also, can everyone just look at those amazing red lips? I purchased my first tube of lip tint before the summer. I actually do not know what I did without it.  Anyone who has ghostly pale skin like mine, should definitely own a giant nail polish sized bottle of it

AWHILE

So I'm back!!!! I was a little sick and had some other issues but I am definitely back. Last post I said I was a little stuck. Since then I have taken tons and tons of pictures and I think I have figured it out. First of all I made a huge mistake, which was shooting with 100 ISO.  I have no idea what I was thinking.

This picture was shot with 100 and it would have been so much better with a higher film speed. The image just has so much information lost. These girls just blew my mind. This was a week before Halloween and I can only assume they were celebrating early. Like all the girls I shoot they were just fun, amazing, and of course fabulous. They had the best personalities. This little project of mine has become so much more than clothes. It is now all about the attitude. I have tried to focus more on having a little fashion shoot with women running from club to club. There will be more pictures to come and I promise they will have better quality.
